The Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers D V Sadananda Gowda has said that an increase in subsidy from Rs. 511 to Rs. 1211 on 50 kg bags of Di-ammonium Phosphate, DAP and Phosphatic and Potassic, P&K fertilizers by the Central Government will benefit 9.57 crore farmers across the country.
In Karnataka the farmers are estimated to utilise five lakh tonnes of DAP and P&K fertilisers for the Kharif season and increase in subsidy will save Rs. 700 crore towards the input cost.
He also added that 55 lakh farmers in Karnataka have been paid Rs. 985 crore under PM Kisan Sammaan Nidhi.
The minister said that they have ensured that the fertiliser production and imports continue despite the prevailing Covid situation.He assured that sufficient stock of Urea, DAP and MOP fertilisers are available in the country.
