CS with Red Cross Society kicked off Plasma drive in Ahmedabad

Plasma Donate Karona, the initiative by Chhatra Sansad in association with Indu Blood Bank, in Vadodara has gaining momentum and spread to other cities of Gujarat. In association with Red Cross Society Ahmedabad, CS kicked off the Plasma Drive in there with first Plasma Donor Sanket Shah.

Following the positive response in Vadodara, the team of Chhatra Sansad Ahmedabad has started with its biggest and the most needful social movement. The aim is to contact COVID-19 recovered patients and motivate them to become Plasma Donors so as to prevent the suffering and trauma associated with COVID-19, an experience that they are unfortunately familiar with. 500 student volunteers have joined hands to help thousands of citizens of Ahmedabad in this fight against COVID-19.

The CS team ask every COVID-19 recovered patient to come forward and become Plasma Donors. They sensitise them about the fact that by surviving the Corona Virus, their body has developed the most valuable resource needed in this fight, Antibodies. The antibodies can help save the lives of currently infected patients, which includes the Frontline warriors like Doctors, Healthcare professionals, Policemen and Civic Body personnel.

The project gotten off to a great start and is being carried out with resounding success. More than 25 people have donated their plasma and over 50 COVID-19 recovered patients have registered themselves as Donors. This donated plasma will be used to help medically critical patients, greatly increasing their chances of recovery and return to normalcy.

On top of this, the team are also conducting antibody tests of the general population to check whether they too can become eligible Plasma Donors.

Chhatra Sansad, an initiative of Zero Hour Foundation is the first ever unique movement founded in 2015 that provides the youth a platform to become an element of change. The vision is to create ethical, spirited and competent public leadership in the country, which will shape our policies. They aim to make our democracy more vibrant and bridge the chasm between the way we are being governed today and the way we actually want to be governed.
