Chief Electoral Officer of the state reviews the counting system

District Election Officer gave information about the Covid safe counting of votes

The Chief Electoral Officer of the State, Murli Krishnan, reviewed the counting arrangements for the by-elections. He stressed on arranging all the arrangements with strict adherence to the instructions for security, especially in the case of Covid 19.

Giving details of the arrangements for counting of votes for the by-election of Karjan seat in Vadodara, Chief District Election Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal said, all necessary arrangements have been made at Polytechnic College in Vadodara for counting of votes for Karjan seat on Tuesday 10th November with Covid guidelines.

Currently, as per the instructions of the commission EVMs and VVPATs have been set up at the Strong Room at this place amidst paramilitary forces and heavy police presence and are being monitored continuously by the electoral system.

She gave detailed information about the arrangements including appointment of staff for counting of votes, training, arrangements including table in the counting room, data entry of round time results, arrangements for admission of candidates’ representatives as well as vigilant security as per the instructions of the commission at each stage.
