Amidst Coronavirus scare the North Indian families in Vadodara celebrated Chhath Puja with enthusiasm but with safety measures. An artificial lake was constructed in Vadsar area where the families worshiped the Sun god. The ladies along with other members perform the rituals wearing masks and following Covid 19 guidelines.

This year the administration cancel public celebration of Chhath Puja as a precautionary measure to stop transition of the Coronavirus. In view of that various organisations decided not to carry out Chhath Puja on the shores of the lake.

North Indian families living in different areas of the city built artificial lake in their area and worshiped the Sun god with devotion and as per tradition.

Every year the Puja were performed in various lakes of the city including Mahisagar attended by thousands of people. However this year the festival was a low key affair due to Coronavirus and the organisations decide to celebrate as per the instructions of the administration.

Maintaining the tradition the devotees worship Sun god in the artificial lake with their families and celebrate the Chhath Puja with safety. They complete the fast on Saturday by worshiping the rising sun and complete their fast.
