Vakil K M Education Society, Kathlal and Charusat University join hands to provide quality education at rural destinations
The Government of Gujarat has recently approved the establishment of Charusat Vidyalaya in Vakil K M Education Society campus at Kathlal. Charusat Vidyalaya has got approval for Std. 1 to 5 non-granted English and Gujarati medium school from the state government. Chatotar University of Science and Technology (Charusat University) Changa and Vakil K M Education Society, Kathlal has joined hands to set up Charusat Vidyalaya.
These agreements have been made to provide quality education through mutual efforts and cooperation in primary-secondary and higher technical education.
Located in Kathalal, the trust is more than 100 years old. In 1917, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi launched the country’s first mass Satyagraha for the benefit of the farmers of Kheda district. He started his No-tax movement in Kathalal on 18-02-1918 with a vow from this holy place.
Seth M. R. high school was founded on October 23, 1908. It became a full-fledged high school from 5th to 11th Std from June 1946 and from March 1947, the institute started placing its students in the matriculation examination conducted by the University of Mumbai. Currently there are 2300 students and 100 teachers. Distinguished dignitaries including Sardar Patel, Indira Gandhi and present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi have visited the school in the past.
Nayan Patel, Secretary, Vakil K M Education Society and Coordinator, Charuset Vidyalaya said, “I would like to thank all the members of my school- -executive members-trustees-villagers for this approval.” We will do our best to take this historic institution to new heights. Continued efforts will be made to ensure that children receive global level education for higher engineering technical education in the future.
It may be mentioned that the world famous Charusat University, which is accredited by NAAC with A GRADE and is located in a 120 acre lush green campus, currently has 7500 students studying in various professional courses in nine constituent institutes. It has been ranked in the top 150 universities nationally”.
Welcoming this approval, Secretary of Charotar Moti Sattavis Patidar Kelvani Mandal Dr. M C Patel said “We will continue our efforts to ensure that children of all classes get quality education”. Vice President of Kelvani Mandal, C A Patel said. “Even at Charusat Vidyalaya, we want to develop a world-class infrastructure that will make the legacy of pride even brighter,”
The Charusat Rural Education Development Program (CREDP) provides education to children in the villages of Charotar. Under this program, A new chapter of education from primary to higher education has been laid for the children of the Vakil K M Education Society campus at Kathlal, in rural Charotar region.
