Under the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) of Commissionerate of Technical Education, Education Department of Government of Gujarat, The Peregrines Innovations, an incubate company of CHARUSAT – EDIC has been supported Rs 1, 26, 000/- for development of Prototype Model of Agricultural Drone for the further research and development. The incubates of the company are the fourth year IT Engineering students Devansh Acharya and Shrey Dalwadi of the CHARUSAT University.

Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation Cell (EDIC) is established to

encourage the young minds of CHARUSAT University in exploring new options and opportunities other than traditional career tendencies. It’s a platform through which students are encouraged to convert their ideas to an executable business proposition and also helps them to develop, nurture, promote and successfully commercialize ventures that are based on innovative products, models, tools, techniques, and technologies.

As a result of efforts and initiatives of EDIC, now many investors are interested to invest on entrepreneur ideas of CHARSUAT students. The expert committee identifies prospective ideas / Business Proposals to nurture to further stage with support of investors.

“EDIC has converted my dream of ‘Agriculture Drone’ into reality by providing immense support and guidance”, said by Devansh. It is worth noting that many national as well as international companies of China have shown interest in Agriculture Drone.

“The modern tech industry Start-ups raise piles of money from investors, and then use the cash to grow aggressively faster than the competition, regulators, most normal businesses, and would consider well-balanced. At EDIC, we nurture these young entrepreneurs and connect them with venture capitalists to vocalize their business ideas”, said by Dr. Govind Dave, Coordinator, EDIC, Principal, Indukaka Ipcowala Institute of Management and Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, CHARUSAT.

“We aims to create an entrepreneurial eco-system within CHARUSAT”, said by Dr. Pankaj Joshi, Provost, CHARUSAT. “EDIC at CHARUSAT acts as a catalyst in identifying, motivating and nurturing entrepreneurial talents; mentoring them towards sustainable pursuits through entrepreneurship awareness, education, training and research”, stated by Dr. Devang Joshi, Registrar, CHRUSAT.

EDIC at CHARUSAT is supported by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India; The National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Government of India; Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India; Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED); and Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP), Directorate of Technical Education, Education Department of Gujarat.
