    A case of rape and intimidation of a young married woman who fell in love with a Muslim man through Facebook came to light in Vadodara.  According to a complaint lodged at the police station, the youth had taken obscene photos of the girl during repeated visits and blackmailed her. Police have arrested the youth and further investigating.

    According to a complaint lodged at the city’s Laxmipura police station, the complainant girl from Vadodara is married and lives with her family. Zubair Ali Zulfiqar Pathan (Resides in Jia Residency, Madhunagar, Gorwa) sent a friend request to her through his Facebook account which she accepted. After accepting the friend request, the two met frequently between December 2019 and November 2020. They also talking on the phone and chatting on Facebook.
    Zubair Ali Pathan took photos of the girl during his visit to various areas and obtained details of her in-laws as well as husband.

    After getting the details, Zubair Ali Pathan used to reach her house and molest her after threatened to send the photos to her husband and make them viral.  Apart from this, Zubair Ali also took obscene photos of the girl and used to call whenever he wanted to meet.  If the girl did not reply to the message, Zubair Ali threatened to make the photos viral and send them to her husband which frightened her.

    The girl who was harassed by Zubair Ali Pathan spoke to her family and lodged a complaint about the incident at the Laxmipura police station. The police registered a case and arrested him within hours. During investigation police it is revealed that Zubair Ali Pathan is employed in a private company at Gorwa BIDC. Further investigation into the incident was conducted by PSI. R.K. Gosai under guidance of P.I.  J.M. Chaudhary.

    This case is like a red light for young women who use social media and sometime fell in trap of making friends on Facebook. Police is in the process of Covid test of the accused and further investigating in the case.
