District election officer held meeting with representatives of political parties

The Election Commission of India has announced by-elections for 147 Karjan assembly seats in Vadodara district.Following this, District Election Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal held a meeting with representatives of various political parties.

She briefed them of various necessary matters including the timetable prescribed by the Election Commission, arrangements for issuance and acceptance of filled nomination papers, appointment of sitting election officer, appointment of Assistant Returning Officer and code of conduct prescribed by the Commission.

The party representatives present at the meeting were given a detailed understanding of the system of voting by postal ballot for the three categories of Senior Voters, Disabled Voters and Covid Affected Voters.

Deputy District Election Officer RP Joshi gave necessary information. Necessary literature pertaining to the election was given to all the present delegates.
