Share Market Closing: Sensex falls over 765 points, Nifty ends below 17,200

The Sensex and the Nifty today tumbled more than one percent. Both stocks fell even as the cues from the global stocks were positive.

The Sensex closed below 57,700 while the Nifty settled below 17,200 level. The BSE Sensex plunged 765 points, or 1.31 percent to trade at 57,696. The NSE Nifty also declined 205 points, or 1.18 percent, to trade at 17,197.
