SpiceJet, the country's second-largest airline, has teamed up with Dolby, a brand recognised for its audio and visual experiences, to provide superior audio experiences for passengers. On suitable Dolby Atmos-equipped devices 38,000 feet in the air, SpiceJet passengers will be able to experience their favourite Dolby Atmos enabled material such as blockbuster movies and podcasts.

SpiceJet's in-flight entertainment (IFE) system, SpiceScreen, built by MojoBoxx, an Indian technology start-up that provides digital travel experience solutions, allows passengers to enjoy this immersive auditory experience. MojoBoxx collaborated with content partners such as Eros Now and Earshot to bring Bollywood films and podcasts in Dolby Atmos to SpiceJet flyers.

SpiceJet introduced SpiceScreen, a complementary in-flight entertainment (IFE) system developed by MojoBoxx, in 2020. Passengers can download and use the SpiceScreen app on their mobile devices to watch movies, shows, stand-up comedians, and podcasts, among other things.

SpiceJet's Chief Marketing Officer, Debojo Maharshi, commented on the development, saying, "As a majority of Indian travelers prefer watching Bollywood, Regional movies, Original shows and Podcasts, Dolby's revolutionary immersive audio technology Dolby Atmos, will add to the entertainment quotient on SpiceScreen".

The budget passenger carrier SpiceJet also introduced a new ticket payment option, which allows passengers to pay the fares in instalments. The airline has introduced a 'Pay Later' or 'Cardless EMI' scheme that allows greater flexibility, affordability and convenience for passengers, who can now book an airline ticket online and pay in three, six, nine or 12 instalments.

Currently, the airline's fleet consists of Boeing 737s, Q-400s, and freighters. Under the UDAN regional connectivity plan, it is the largest regional player, operating 63 daily flights. Currently, only SpiceJet has Boeing 737 Max aircraft in its fleet in India.
