Normally we
see groom takes out his marriage procession to reach the bride house to marry
her. But a bride in Vadodara change the tradition and took out her marriage
procession to marry the groom. The procession moves in the village and later
the couple tied the knot on the auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchmi.

Prachi
Brahmbhatt completed her graduation and married to a engineer youth Vivek in a
big ceremony in Vadodara. Before the marriage probably for the first time the
procession of the bride was taken out in the Gotri area to spread a message of
equality in the society. People in big numbers including women joined the
procession and the marriage ceremony.

“It’s a
proud moment for me as my father changed the years old tradition to give his
daughter the moment to cherish. He took out the marriage procession just like
of the groom and spread the message of equality,” said Prachi.

Bride’s
cousin brother Umang Brahmbhatt said their family never compare boy and girl
and always see them as equal. There is a wish of his uncle to takes out the
bride procession before her marriage and we fulfill the same. We wish the
others take some inspiration from this as give the equal status to girls in the
families.
