Awarded for life long dedication to spiritual arts through
dance

Bharatanatyam
exponent Dr Guru Sharad Pandya Dr Guru Sharad Pandya has been awarded the most
prestigious award of 2019 by magic India spiritual festival and Natya yoga
company “Natya Gaura Award” for life long dedication to spiritual
arts through dance.

The award
was conferred to him on November 30th 2019, Brazil time, 8:00 pm at Palais des
Artes, at Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil. His disciple Shweta Patel is awarded with
Natya yoga annual award.

The audience
received Dr Guru Sharad Pandya after their Bharatanatyam concert with great appreciation,
sentiments and respect. During their visit to Brazil Dr. Guru Sharad Pandya
conducts workshops and classical dance performances at various cities spreading
the Indian classical arts in the country.

On Dec 1st and 2nd Dr Guru Sharad Pandya conducting workshops on technical aspects of Abhinaya Darpana for the Portuguese Brazilian musicians and artists. Also the tala (rhythm system) in Indian classical arts for flamenco dancers, ballets dancers, modern dancers and instrumentalists.

Currently in
Brazil he is working closely to promote Indian classical dance to the artists
of Brazil as well as to the artists of other South American countries, who are
visiting Brazil, to take part in the presentations being done by him.

Touring cities in Brazil, such as Atibaia, Sau Paulo, Brazilia, Rio de Janerio and Belo Horizonte, he conduct workshops, lecture demonstrations, master classes and performances for musicians, dancers and theatre as well as yoga aspirants and practitioners from Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile at Brazil.

His
itinerary included Interview and documentary at the Minsitry of Culture, Govt
of Brazil at Atibaia with Prof. Andrea Albergaria, Ms. Roberta, The cultural
secretary and Ms. Carla the PRO.

He has
associated his lecture demonstrations with leading artists who are
collaborating with him such as Prof Andrea Albergaria founder-director “Devi”,
Danseuse and film actor Ms Irani, Teacher and educator Ms Cassiana Rodriguez,
Yoga instructor Ms. Legia, Karen Veloso Founder Natya Yoga and Magic India
festival, Isckon Belo Horizonte and Allesandra Veloso theatre and movie actor
and Bharatanatyam dancer.

Dr. Guru
Sharad Pandya’s senior disciple Shweta Patel assisting him for all the
performances, workshops and lecture demonstrations.

moments to mention are,

1. Being
received at Sau Paulo airport Brazil, by Amazing artist Andrea and her disciple
Lucia.

2. A visit
to the city of Atibaia, and seeing the local culture. And workshops for
students of Devi.

3. At
cultural center for interview and documentary by Ministry of culture, Atibaia.

4. Perform
of jugalbandhi with Brazilian Odissi dancers and Dr Sharad Pandya and Shweta
Patel in Bharatanatyam. Choreography by the Guru for Atibaia grand day
festival.

5. Lecture
demonstration for yoga people in Brazil.

6. Invitated
by A Mexican restaurant in honour of our arts and respects for us. For a grand
get-together and dinner.

7. Invited
by Italian restaurant for lunch and to honour our visit at Brazil.

Dr Guru
Sharad Pandya is an exponent of Bharatanatyam and is the founder director of
Purva School of Bharatanatyam, operational in Vadodara since 4 decades. He is
the founder of Purva International classical dance festival, which was
instituted in 2007 and other festival which support revival of the dying or
lesser known dance forms from 1990.

He is the
author of Nrutya Shastra, which states the history and theory of classical
dance. He has worked hard to spread the love and respect of Indian arts in
India and abroad, including at Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Kampuchea,
Vietnam, Philippines, USSR, USA, Mauritius, Pakistan, Singapore and many more.
