CHARUSAT Witnesses 10th Convocation on 9th January 2021

CHARUSAT, situated in Charotar region, celebrated the 10th Convocation event on 9th January 2021. Harish Mehta, Founder & Executive Chairman of Onward Technologies and First elected Chairman of NASSCOM was the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address online.

The event was graced by other dignitaries from the academic world, industries and the government apart from Provost, Dr. Pankaj Joshi, President, CHARUSAT Surendrabhai Patel, Registrar Dr. Devang Joshi, Members of the Governing Body, Board of Management of CHARUSAT, invited dignitaries, Deans of various Faculties, parents and students.

In light of the global pandemic and thorough adherence to the rules of social distancing, CHARUSAT would be conferring the degrees to the graduating students over two days: 11th January 2021 and 12th January 2021 at six different venues. Amongst the presence of esteemed dignitaries, 313 students of Faculty of Computer Applications, 197 students of Faculty of Management Studies, 128 students of Faculty of Pharmacy, 285 students of Faculty of Applied Sciences and 890 students of Faculty of Technology and Engineering were conferred degrees and blessed for a bright future.

In a glittering convocation ceremony held at the campus, a total of 1813 degree holders including 30 gold medallists, were conferred degrees. The ceremony commenced with the grand Convocation procession, fragranced with the chanting of Vedic Mantras befitting Indian culture and tradition. Dr Devang Joshi, Registrar, CHARUSAT, led the convocation procession joined by the Provost, President, Members of the Governing Body, Board of Management of CHARUSAT, invited dignitaries, Deans of various Faculties and Gold Medallists.

The programme began with a prayer and the University Song. Addressing the congregation, Dr Pankaj Joshi, Provost, CHARUSAT welcomed the guests, shared the University’s progress report and extended his wishes to the graduating students. The Registrar led the Oath taking ceremony where all the students pledged to excel professionally and serve the society. The Ph.D. scholars and the Gold Medalists from various disciplines received their degrees and Medals from the Deans of various departments during the Convocation event held on 9th January 2021.

The students and the audience were enthralled by the rousing speech of the Chief Guest, Harish Mehta who said, “Digitization is an attitude. The youngsters should upskill and reskill themselves though technology”. He ended with a note that we are living in uncertain times but live in a world of immense opportunities.

During this momentous graduation ceremony Ramanbhai Patel (Chakalashi) pledged a donation of Rupees One Crore to the University. Further, Vishnubhai Patel (Mehlav), a Trustee of Kelavani Mandal and Navneetbhai Patel (Azarpura), Vice President, Matrusanstha donated Rupees Five Lakh each towards Gold Medals.

The Convocation concluded with the vote of thanks by the Registrar, Dr. Devang Joshi. It is noteworthy here that all the Medals are real Gold Medals conferred with certificates. Students and their parents are all provided with hospitality and special attention.
