BCA appointed Shishir Hattangadi as CEO of the association

The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA), has appointed Shishir Hattangadi as CEO of the association. He will join as CEO of the association from March 6, 2020.

With
reference to the Constitutional requirement of appointing a CEO in association,
the Baroda Cricket Association had initiated a search for a competent candidate
as CEO. The association started the exercise by releasing an advertisement in
newspaper for the same. The association received about 150 applications from
various candidates, out of which 50 candidates were shortlisted in the primary
round. While 10 candidates were identified out of the 50 candidates. 

A special
selection committee comprising of the President Pranav Amin, Secretary Ajit
Lele and Joint Secretary Parag Patel from BCA interviewed the candidates and
uninamously selected Shishir Hattangadi for the post of the CEO. Shishir
Hattangadi has been a first class cricketer on the field, while off the field
he is a motivator, mentor, commentator, cricket management professional and
administrator. 

With a
First Class career of over a decade representing Mumbai in the domestic
championships, he was an opening batsman and played 60 first class matches. He

captained
Mumbai at all levels from junior cricket to University cricket Under 22 and the
Ranji Trophy. He received the Chatrapati Shivaji Award for his contribution
from Maharashtra Government in year1989. He has gone on to develop talent scout
programs where he has made structural changes in cricket development programs,
thereby creating a structure for development of young cricketers (growing up to
the game).

Hattangadi
has served as Selector in Mumbai Cricket Association and Senior Selector at
Cricket Improvement Committee. He held various positions in the IPL, and has
served Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians as Director-Cricket. He has been
responsible for cricket management and structuring the Franchisee with the
owners on cricketing, marketing, legal and execution matters. He has focussed
on bridging the gap between cricketing operations and owner management.

Apart
from Cricket and Sports Management, he has worked on senior positions with
Mahindra and Mahindra, Tata Group and various other leading corporates. 
His strength lies in his ability to work with people, his clarity in
communication and his thought process.

He has
been appointed for a tenure of two years. As a CEO, his focus will be to take
BCA and cricket to the next level. He will also develop various strategies for
the development of cricket and cricketers and will execute successfully.
