Asha workers handed over application to Vadodara collector with a demand to resolve their outstanding issues

Asha workers handed over an application to Vadodara district collector with a demand to resolve their outstanding issues. They demand to stop the exploitation of 45000 Asha workers and clear their dues pending for last many months.

The asha workers reached collector office and handed over a 'Vedna Patra' in view of their long pending demands. They said the Asha workers from Gujarat working in Corona operations have been being exploited for the last one and a half years and the Gujarat government does not pay wages or allowance to them. They handed over the letter to the Vadodara District Collector under the leadership of Mahila Shakti Sena president Chandrika Solanki.

At the collector's office, Asha workers staged demonstrations and chanted slogans with placards. In the letter, a presentation was made about the injustice done by the Gujarat government. They mentioned that asha workers are paid Rs 33 and the facilitator Rs 16.

They demanded to increase the amount and at the same time the asha workers who have been working at the Covid Care Center for the last one and a half years during the Corona epidemic, should be given extra allowance like other paramedical staff.

They also threaten to reach Gandhinagar and represent if their demands are not met.
