Dr. Vinod Rao, Officer on Special Duty and Education Secretary, held a meeting with Municipal Commissioner P. Swaroop and the concerned officers of VMC and reviewed in detail the situation of Covid in Vadodara city.
He said that currently 2100 admitted patients are being treated in government and private hospitals in Vadodara against a total of 5500 beds available for the treatment of Covid. However, as part of precautionary measures as well as advance planning and proactive approach, it is planned to increase the number of beds to 7,000 in the next four to five days by adding 100 more private hospitals to the treatment of covid through registration.
The number of beds will be increased from 1300 to 1400 by recognising more than 100 private hospitals in Vadodara city for Covid treatment. Dr. Vinod Rao said that in the near future, the treatment of Covid in Vadodara city will become more accessible and affordable.
Currently 121 private hospitals in Vadodara city are accredited for Covid treatment where 4125 beds are available for patients. In the next 4 to 5 days, the number of beds available will be increased from 1300 to 1400 and the number of ventilators will be increased from 50 to 60 by recognising more than 100 private hospitals for the treatment of covid.
Further Dr. Rao have convened a meeting along with Collector, Police Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner tomorrow at 4.30 pm in Dhara Sabha Hall. The aim is to strictly enforce compulsory usage of Mask and social distancing in public places in the coming days to minimize COVID transmission. All DCPs, ACPs and senior officials will also join.
