Y.C. Modi new NIA DG

1984 batch Assam Meghalaya cadre Y.C. Modi is selected as new DG of National Investigation Agency. The present DG Sharad Kumar is retiring on 30th October 2017 and the Central Home department issues order of the selection of Y.C. Modi as the successor and next DG of NIA.

Y.C. Modi has old relations with Gujarat. He was appointed as the head of SIT team investigating 2002 Godhra riots by the Supreme Court. In 2015 he was appointed as the additional director of the CBI and also served as DG in Shilong.
