The top winners at Globe Soccer Awards are Ronaldo, Mbappe and Lewandowski

Lewandowski finished a historic year by winning the Maradona award for the best goalscorer and the fans' player of the year title

The Burj Khalifa hosted the 12th edition of the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, with Robert Lewandowski among the night's top winners.

The striker from Poland and Bayern Munich capped a record-breaking year by winning the Maradona award for best goalscorer of the year — as well as the fans' player of the year title.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who was playing for Manchester United versus Newcastle at the time of the award presentation on Monday, sent a video greeting in honour of his title as the all-time leading goalscorer.

Alexia Putellas won the women's award, while Kylian Mbappe was named the men's player of the year.
