Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani, one of the judges on music reality show Indian Idol, is being massively trolled on Titter after he said the famous song ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon’ was sung by Lata Mangeshkar for Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1947. He said this to a contestant on the latest episode of the show.

This led to #DadlaniFacts trending on Twitter as netizens called out the musician for not getting his facts right. Dadlani took ot Twitter to apologise for his error. The song was in fact sung by Lata Mangeshkar to commemorate Indian soldiers who died during the Sino-Indian War in 1962.

Dadlani reacted to the hashtag trending and wrote, “Yaar BJP ke phukatiya 2-rupee trolls, yeh #DadlaniFacts trend karwa lo! If you can! Love the hashtag! I’ll even retweet the really funny ones, come on!”

In another tweet, he said:

Meanwhile, Twitter users are making use of the opportunity to come up with their own versions of the origin of various iconic songs. Many of these, take a dig at Nehru, and even Mahatma Gandhi.
