India clinched 12 medals comprising 2 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze in athletics at 13th South Asian Games in Nepal on Friday.

In men’s shot put Tajinder Pal Singh grabbed gold and Om Prakash Singh won silver. In women’s section Abha Khatua clinched gold and Kachnar Chauba begged bronze.

In 4×100 meter relay Indian men and women won silver each. In men’s 400 meter hurdle Jabir Madari won silver and Santosh Kumar bronze.

In women’s category Veerpal Kaur got bronze. In women’s 5000 meter sprint Parul Chaudhary won silver  medal and Priti Lamba got bronze. In men’s category Sunil Dawar clinch silver. On the 6th day of games, India is on top with 136 medals comprising 64 gold, 47 silver and 25 bronze.
