Earthquake of 3.0 magnitude strikes Gujarat’s Kutch
This is the second significant seismic activity to be recorded in the Kutch region this month
Tremors were felt in Gujarat’s Kutch district after 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck an isolated spot near the Indo-Pakistan international border on Friday morning, official sources said.
According to Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research (ISR), the seismic activity, that took place 12.16 am, was epicentred at 35 kilometres North-North-West from Khavda at a depth of 10 kilometres.
This is the second significant seismic activity to be recorded in the Kutch region this month. On July 3, a tremor of 3.4-magnitude earthquake had shook Rapar. The epicentre of the quake lay just a few kilometres away from Chobari village, which was also the epicentre of the devastating earthquake of 2001.
