Garba Queen of Vadodara Mitali Shah once again ready to conquer the stage
Will wear heavy and costly nine different costumes during Navratri
The traditional Garba as well as the supporting constumes are the essence of Vadodara and female dancers are not taking any chances to miss the recent trends to include them in their Chaniya Cholis. Garba Queen of the city Mitali Shah once again is ready to put her mark on the ground with her heavy constumes which became her identity for years.
This year she designed her costumes on traditional themes with bright colors to look different and inspiring in the crowd. "Carrying a tag of garba queen, I always choose my costumes carefully specially designed for the ocassion. This year the Ghagra is of 27 meter in flair and weigh around seven kilos. I design the dress along with my mother and prefer to wear heavy and traditionally decorated ones during the festival. Every day the costume is different and each cost around 20,000 and more including the jewellery, said Mitali Shah.
Passionate about Garba, Mitali starts preparations much earlier before the Navratri festival and keep her costumes with supported jewellery ready. "I always want to look different in the crowd and prefer to wear heavy and traditionally decorated dresses during the nine nights festival of Navratri. I never wear black and hence customise my costumes in bright and vivid colours. Like last year this time also I am going to wear the beautiful dress of Queen Padmavati in the film Padmavat with some changes in style and colors. The aim is to look different from the crowd," said Shah.
Professionally a insurance advisor, Mitali runs a Garba class 'Adyashakti Garba Classes' and going to perform with her students in the Navratri festival. With different themes and colors the Garba Queen is all set to conquer the stage once again and make her mark.
