Its a evening to remember as the megastar of the century Amitabh Bachchan will be in Vadodara to receive the BMA’s prestigious, national level Sayaji Ratna Award a tribute to the people’s king Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad Ill. The award shall be presented to Amitabh Bachchan on 20th November 2018 in a glittering ceremony.
The award recognizes and acknowledges living legends of India, for their iconic character and outstanding contribution in the field of Business, Sports, Arts, Humanity, Education, Governance or Medicine.
Eminent jury of people selects a recipient whose life has demonstrated the stellar qualities closely matching with what Maharaja Sayajirao lll imbibed and exhibited during his Illustrious reign. Significant qualities are Vision, Integrity, Compassion, Philanthropy, Institution Building Ability, Patronage of Experts and Leadership that touches, inspires and uplifts all sections of the society. The 1st Sayaji Ratna Award was presented to N. Narayana Murthy (Founder, lnfosys Ltd.) and 2nd was presented to Ratan Tata Chairman of TATA Group.
BMA officials confirmed the presence of Amitabh Bachchan to visit Vadoadra on 20th November 2018 to accept the award at the hands of Jury in a glittering function. The jury members consists of Shrimant Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, Dilip Sanghavi (MD Sun Pharma), Deepak Parekh (Chairman HDFC), Hasmukh Shah (former Chairman IPCL), ONGC Chairman in office (Sashi Shakar) and AIMA President in office Harshvardhan Neotia decide to present the award after to him.
Members of the jury felt Amitabh Bachchan’s key contribution in promoting various social cause, inspiring millions of artists across the globe and establishing highest standards of excellence. They also felt that Amitabh Bachchan is an institution himself and hence this award solicits presence of awardee at Vadodara, so that local talent and people derive inspiration and attain excellence.
Giving details BMA officials informed that Mr. Bachchan shall attend award function and also have conversation with another dignitary in presence of youth. They further informed that this initiative of BMA is putting Vadodara on national map and would also help in inviting internationally renowned iconic Indians to visit Vadodara and inspire citizens of this great city. In this way, BMA is contributing its little in strengthening rich traditions of Sayajirao era.
