Air Marshal
Surendra Kumar Ghotia PVSM VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western
Air Command of Indian Air Force visited Air Force Station Jaisalmer from 10 to
11 Feb 2020. He was accompanied by Nirmala Ghotia, President, Air Force Wives
Welfare Association (Regional).
They were
received by Air Commodore Shailesh Ranjan VSM, Air Officer Commanding, Air
Force Station Jaislmer along with Anamika Ranjan, President Air Force Wives
Welfare Association (Local).
The Air Marshal was briefed about the operational roles and tasks of the station. He visited various units of the base and appreciated the role played by the frontline Air Force base in guarding the skies of the nation. During his address to the station personnel, he shared his vision of meeting the national security objectives in this era of rapid modernization and asymmetric threats.
He appreciated all the air warriors, civilians, DSC and MES personnel for displaying exceptional capabilities in managing complex issues and challenging tasks. He also stressed upon the need to enhance operational capability through improved serviceability and training. The Air Marshal urged for rapid operationalisation of newly inducted platforms and equipments and their integration for Network Centric Operations.
Nirmala Ghotia interacted with the wives of Air warriors and praised their selfless contribution towards the association. She also interatced with the students of Air Force School, Jaisalmer and Play School, AFWWA (L). She dedicated the newly renovated school sports ground and expressed her appreciation for providing quality education to children in such a remote location.
