Air Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran VM took over as the Senior Air Staff
Officer of Headquarter South Western Air Command on 04 Nov 2019. He is a
graduate of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned as a fighter
pilot in the Indian Air Force on
22 Dec 1983. He has over 4800 hours of flying on single engine fighter /
trainer aircraft. He is also a graduate of Defence Services Staff College,
Wellington and an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence College, New
Delhi.
He commanded the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team from 2002 to 2005. He has
commanded two flying bases and was the Defence Attache at Cairo, Egypt from
2007 to 2010. At Air Headquarters, he has tenanted the posts of Assistant Chief
of the Air Staff (Intelligence) and Director General (Inspection & Safety).
