    90 Air Marshal Surendra Kumar Ghotia Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command has been awarded the presidential award Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) on the occasion of 71st Republic Day. PVSM is awarded in recognition of distinguished service of the most exceptional order. PVSM is the highest peace time military presidential award in the country.

    Air Marshal Surendra Kumar Ghotia, an alumnus of National Defence Academy was commissioned in the fighter stream of Indian Air Force in December 1981. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor and has held various appointments which include Commanding Officer of a fighter squadron, senior staff appointments at Air HQs and Air Attache at the Embassy of India, Paris.

    Prior to his present appointment, he was Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command
