Five policemen from Vadodara including Commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut were honoured with DGP’s commendation disc for extending excellent service in maintaining law and order by strategically deploying Bandobast during festivals and protests. DGP’s Commendation Disks are awarded to 110 officers and men of Gujarat Police to appreciate and honour commendable achievements and exemplary service.

From this year DGP Gujarat started the initiative by awarding police personnel with ‘DGP Commendation Disc’ for their outstanding work in the state police force. Gujarat is the seventh state to award the DGP medal. A Total of 110 personnel from all departments including District Police, Anti Terrorist Squad, Coastal Security, Intelligence Bureau, CID, CID (Crime and Railways), Armed Units, Technical Service, State Crime Record Bureau and Training are included in this award category and will continue every year, to encourage the police force.

Recipients of the medal were nominated by their respective department, which sent a detailed nomination to the Gandhinagar Police Headquarters. The award was handed over by the state police chief Shivanand Jha.
