30 units of blood was collected by Boond Thalassemia Foundation to help such patients and others in need. The foundation organised a blood donation camp along with its partner blood bank, Shree Jalaram Blood Bank and supporters, Aastha Thalassemia Trust, Friends Society, Scientific Community and We are the Future Group on 30th May 2021.

Boond Thalassemia Foundation is a city-based social service organisation established in the year 2019. It is founded by Anshul Goel who himself is a Beta-Thalassemic Major patient and is currently in his final year of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

It primarily works for spreading awareness to the masses about Thalassemia and its prevention via online and offline modes. It also runs a blood donation drive across the city to support the requirement of blood and its components.

"Due to the present Covid-19 pandemic crisis and the starting of the vaccination drive, the availability of blood in the city has dropped to alarming levels. This is causing many troubles to all the thalassemia major patients and others who are dependent on blood transfusions every 15-20 days.

Many patients aren't able to arrange blood for themselves and this causes delays in their blood transfusion which has a significant impact on their life, health and well-being. The donation drive is step towards to help such patients," said Anshul Goel founder of Boond Thalassemia Foundation.
