Longest fire painting in the world by Kamal Rana, Gujarat
Kamal Rana the fire artist from Vadodara is going to achieve one more milestone after making longest fire painting on the theme of world cricket. The painting he make is on canvas of the size 7 foot/ 63 foot and the only medium he use is fire.
Kamal Rana is well known for his fire paintings and now he make the longest fire painting in the world on the theme of cricket. The painting took 10 months time to complete with some finishing touches still remaining. Rana wants to do something different from the other artists and hence use fire for his painting.
"The painting is the longest fire painting in the world and till date no one made such a long painting in the medium using fire. I use highly inflammable chemical, gun powder and other things to burn and make the painting. Different chemicals give different textures and i use it in my painting. Every artist uses colours, brushes and other things to create paintings but I want to do something from others and choose fire as the medium and use my hands," said Rana.

Rana uses the theme of world cricket where he choose famous cricketers from international teams and draw them in their trademark styles. "Cricket is supremely popular game in the world and that is the reason I chose the theme for my painting. I choose famous cricketers like Sachin Tendulakar, M.S. Dhoni, Steve Smith, Duminy, Branden McCulum and also cricketers from Pakistan and try to feature them in their trademark styles. The people can easily recognise them after see them in their action," said Rana.
The painting is probably the longest fire painting in the world and Kamal Rana is going to approach the record committee to claim. "This is the longest fire painting in the world and I am going to approach the Guinness Record Committee and send them the documentary evidences and video recordings. My plan is to display the painting in the famous stadiums in India and world. Australia shows intrest to display the painting permanently at their one of the stadiums but I am keenly intrested to kept in India and already approached many stadiums," said Rana.
Rana is also planning to send a replica of the painting to every cricket association in the world famous cricketers. The painting will be on display in Vadodara in the month of March and then it will go to Jehangir Art gallery Mumbai, Marvel Art gallery Ahmedabad, Surat, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh and other cities for display.
