1st Khelo India Zanskar Winter Sports Festival begins today in Ladakh

In Ladakh, first ever Khelo India Zanskar Winter Sports Festival will begin today at Padum in Kargil district today. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Kirren Rijiju will inaugurate the event.

Sources reports that the Khelo India Zanskar Winter Sports and Youth Festival is being introduced as an annual event in Zanskar to showcase its potential of adventure tourism and sports.

The event is planned to promote winter tourism in Ladakh. Main features of the 13 -day festival are Ice Climbing, Trekking on frozen Zanskar River, Ice Hockey , snow sculpture and ethenic food festival. The festival is being organised by the Ladakh UT administration to explore adventurous tourism through sports in Zanskar.
