This year Ganesh mandals from Vadodara decorated the pandals with various innovative themes. Dakshini Falia Sarvajanik Yuvak Mandal at Painter Tanaji Gali at Khanderao Market displays a moving decoration of Param Vir Chakra Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh. As a Naib Subedar he led his team and conquered the highest peak in the Siachen. The peak was later named after him.
Every year the city witness various innovative themes during the ten days of Ganeshotsav. This year everyone implement the eco friendly concept in their decorations and design the entire ambience inside the pandal accordingly.
The Dakshini Falia Sarvajanik Yuvak Mandal displays the moving decoration of PVC Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh showing his heroics during Operation Rajiv and conquered the highest peak in the Siachen area. They used papers to decorate every item like the icy mountains, tanks, jawans, army camps, vehicles to spread the message of eco friendly celebration. The mandal gives tribute to PVC Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh and also to the soldiers guarding our borders in difficult situations.
“Every year we decorate Ganpati with different theme and this year we pay our respects and tribute to PVC Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh and the Indian soldiers guarding our borders and helping us in natural calamities. We use eco friendly theme and prepare all the things with paper,” said organiser Sachin Marathi.
Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh, PVC is a retired Indian soldier and recipient of the nation's highest military award, the Param Vir Chakra. As a Naib Subedar, he led his team and conquered the highest peak in the Siachen area as part of Operation Rajiv. The peak was named later after him as "Bana Post" in his honour.
