WRWWO president encourages women empowerment

Carried out welfare activities over Western Railway

Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (WRWWO) has always come forward to provide help and care to railwaymen and their families. In continuation to this, recently, President Tanuja Kansal paid annual visits to the Divisional Units of WRWWO at Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad and Ratlam Divisions to encourage various aspects of women empowerment and social welfare.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, WRWWO President interacted with members of the divisional units and listened to their requirements for the benefit of women staff at these Divisions. During her visit of Rajkot Division, she inaugurated a Children’s Park at Kothi Compound Colony. Along with this, she also declared cash awards of Rs. 50,000/- each for Rajkot, Bhavnagar & Ahmedabad divisions. It is worth mentioning that during her earlier visits to Vadodara & Mumbai Central divisions too, cash awards of Rs. 50,000/- each were also given by WRWWO President Tanuja Kansal.

This kind gesture will look after providing necessary amenities for staff of these divisions. At Ratlam Division, she Kansal donated 43 inch television screen for the Physiotherapy Room at Divisional Hospital, Ratlam, which was inaugurated by her during her recent visit to the division. The respective presidents of these divisional units of WRWWO expressed their gratitude for her generous donations in the direction to encourage social welfare & women empowerment activities.

Thakur stated that WRWWO has been extremely generous in looking after the welfare of employees of Western Railway. It has done commendable welfare works and has served the diverse & innumerable welfare requirements of Western Railway Staff. It has also been generous in times of national calamities with its financial contributions and co-ordination in providing relief materials.
