Introduce Whatsapp numbers to report and register complaints

Western Railway starts a new initiative by taking help of social media to speed up their drive of ‘Swachh Rail…Swachh Bharat’.

They roped in their commuters as ‘Crusaders’ in the fight against uncleanlines especially on station premises & in Pay & Use toilets by introducing a new dedicated 24×7 Whatsapp number to report and register such complaints.

According to a press release issued by WR Chief Public Relations Officer  Ravinder Bhakar, Cleanliness is one of the top priorities of W. Rly and utmost importance is given to the same. They recently introduced a dedicated Whatsapp number 90044 99733 for Mumbai suburban stations wherein passengers can click pictures of uncleanliness over railway premises & also of Pay & Use toilets and send it on the number.

A dedicated staff is working round the clock to handle such complaints in the Complaints Cell. Full attempt will be made to attend to the concern area immediately and address the grievance. This will be an additional monitoring mechanism in addition to existing ones like regular inspections by Station Masters, Inspectors and Officers.

Similarly, W. Rly’s other Divisions have also introduced such dedicated Whatsapp No. wherein the passengers are encouraged to click photographs and Whatsapp it for taking remedial actions. The Whatsapp Nos. of other Divisions are as under:
