PM Modi holds bilateral talks with Japanese and Australian counterparts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held bilateral talks with his counterparts in Japan and Australia, Fumio Kishida and Anthony Albanese, on the sidelines of the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington.

In his meeting with Kishida, Modi thanked the Japanese leader for his unwavering dedication and leadership in enabling advances in the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership over the last few years.

Both Modi and Kishida noted that the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership is in its 10th year and expressed satisfaction at the progress made in the relationship.

Meanwhile, Modi and Albanese in their meeting discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas such as political and strategic, defence and security, trade and investments, education and research, climate change and renewable energy, and people-to-people ties. 

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

It said the two prime ministers acknowledged that the frequency of high-level contacts has imparted a strong momentum to bilateral relations.
