On Saturday (local time), a 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Menyuan county in northwest China's Qinghai Province, local media reported, citing the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

At 37.77 degrees north latitude and 101.26 degrees east longitude, the epicentre was detected. According to Xinhua News Agency, the quake occurred at a depth of 10 km around 1:45 a.m. (Beijing Time).
