[:en]The US Food and Drugs Administration has issued an import alert on Wockhardt’s Ankleshwar plant on Friday due to allegedly poor manufacturing practice.

The Ankleshwar unit manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and was inspected last year by the US regulator. The import alert implies that products made at this facility cannot be exported to the US.

The Ankleshwar plant was earlier issued Form 483 which notifies the company’s management about quality concerns at manufacturing plants.

Already the company’s two plants at Chikalthana and Waluj have been banned from exporting drugs to the US by the US health regulator.
