After Unlock 1.0 announced by the government, Western Railway took to conducting its first ever freight customer web conference through video link on 6th June, 2020. Continuing in this series, Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway, organised a second video conference on 20th June, 2020 with the Heads of Private Freight Terminal/Private Siding customers for reviewing the progress of PFTs and Sidings targeted for commissioning in the current financial year 2020-2021.

According to a press release issued by WR CPRO Ravinder Bhakar, this video conference was a special initiative by GM Kansal to bring all stakeholders at one platform and to resolve issues on real time basis. The online meeting was attended by top executives of these PFTs and Sidings and by the concerned Principal Heads of departments of Western Railway alongwith other senior officers. The meeting turned out to be a fruitful discussion to meet the commissioning as per their targets. The virtual meeting was attended by Plasser India, Wonder Cement, Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd, APSEZ and Aarya Ocean Logistics Park Pvt. Ltd.

Alok Kansal in the meeting emphasised that Western Railway officials are always approachable, so any impending issues adversely affecting the progress of the project can be brought to their attention. This virtual meeting has acquired a great significance in the backdrop of present challenging times, not only for the Railways but also for the economy as a whole. This meeting will surely result into win-win situation for both Railways and Private entities.
