VMSS team raid on pan shops

Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan (VMSS) health department on Wednesday strikes at the popular pan shops and outlets in the city and found health hazardous products like Chuna, Supari, Chatni and other things used inside the pan. The team destroyed the hazardous products and also served notice to Amar Pan house. This is for the first time that the VMSS health department team raid on pan shops in the city.

After Rajkot the VMSS health department raid on the pan shops taking in consideration the health of the general public who normally have pan after the food just like a mouth freshener. The two teams raid at popular pan shops like Paras Pan house, Amar Pan house, Rich Pan in Sayajigunj, Alkapuri, Fatehgunj, OP Road areas and checked the quality of the products used in the pan.

The team checked and found health hazardous materials used in the pans. They destroyed 28kgs Chatni, 4kgs of Katha powder, 1 kg sweet Supari, 2 kg Chuna parcel and other things on the spot. The health inspector said that there was no date mentioned, batch number and expiry date mentioned on the bottles of Chatni. The Sweet Supari was also health hazardous and they destroyed the items on the spot.

The team also asked for the licence from Paras Pan house and Amar Pan house but the owners are not present at the shops. The team also served notices to them after the health hazardous products were found from inside the shops.
