Closed down stalls for not following Covid 19 guidelines

Amidst Coronavirus scare, VMSS food safety teams conduct checking at around 65 hotels, restaurants, food and tea stalls in the city. The team closed five stalls for not following the Covid 19 guidelines and destroyed five kgs of non eatable items.

VMC health officer Dr. Mukesh Vaidya said, in view of the Coronavirus scare in the city the health team formed teams to check various hotels, restaurants, food and tea stalls to check the violations of guidelines. The teams also take action against those who are not following the government rules amidst Covid 19.

On Saturday on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner the food teams conduct checking in around 65 hotels, restaurants, food and tea stalls to check if they are following the Covid 19 guidelines at their place. The team closed the stalls who are not following the guidelines and also destroyed nearly five kgs of non eatable food items.

Dr. Vaidya said the teams started the campaign for the last one week and checked every areas of the city about the food safety measures amidst Coronavirus scare. The checking will continue everyday by the teams.
