VMSS health team raid on mango sellers

VMSS health department team on Thursday strikes inside the mango market behind the Khanderao Market and shocked to see the fruit sellers used Ethinil powder to ripe the mangoes along with the Calcium Carbide powder.

The Ethinile powder is using for the first time to ripe the mangoes and after the raid the VMSS team seized the pouches of the powder and destroyed about 300 kgs of mangoes ripen with the help of the powder.The selling of the mangoes is already started from the month of March and till date 100 of kgs of magoes are sold by the sellers. The VMSS team now came into action and strikes in the market behind their office.

Food Inspector Prashant Bhavsar said that their teams raid around 15 shops and seized about 300 gs of mangoes stored there to ripe with the help of Calcium Carbide powder and Ethinile powder.

He further added that from this year they came to know that the sellers are now using the Ethinile powder to ripe the mangoes and they are sending the samples to access the details about its effect on health. The team destroyed about 300 kgs of ripen mangoes on the spot.
