VMSS health department checking inside sweet shops

In view of the upcoming Rakshabandhan festival the VMSS health department on Tuesday checked the sweet shops and took samples of various sweet varieties and send for testing. The team started checking inside the sweet shops for the last four days in various areas of the city.

The teams raided the sweet shops in Makarpura, Manjalpur, Waghodia road, Karelibaug areas and collected samples of different sweet items. Every year before the festivals the health department started checking in the shops for adulteration which is hazardous to the health of the people.

In the last four days of checking the teams didn’t find anything adulterated and health hazardous from the sweet shops. However the team took samples of the sweet varieties and send it to the laboratory for checking. The officials also said that if the reports came positive then steps will be taken against the shopkeepers.
