In view of the upcoming Diwali festival the VMSS health department tied up their strings and strictly checking the quality of the sweets in shops and factories. Continue their drive the teams search all the industrial estates and Baroda dairy for the materials using in sweet and farsan items.

VMSS team like every year inspects the sweet and farsan shops for the quality of the items they sell to the people during the festive season. This year also the teams continue their drive and extend it to the industrial estates where the sweet and farsan items is prepared.

On Thursday the teams searched the industrial estates of Karelibaug, Sardar estate, Makarpura GIDC and Gorwa BIDC. The teams checked the quality specially the raw material like mawa for any adulteration and the silver foils used on the sweets. They also checked if the hygiene is maintained by the owners during preparation of sweet and farsan items.

The teams also collected around 10 different samples and send it for lab testing. The idea is to make sure the people of Vadodara get the pure items during the festive season without compromising their health.

On Wednesday the VMSS team checked various sweet and farsan shops in O.P. road, Gorwa, Fatehgunj, Manjalpur and collect samples for checking. They also checked the popular Duliram Pendawala sweet shop and found unhygienic sweets around 5kgs and destroyed it on the spot.
