In view of the increasing positive cases of Swine Flu the health department team of the VMSS for the last two days started checking in the hotels, restaurants and food joints to check the quality of the food served to the people. On Friday the teams raided and checked in 24 hotels, restaurants and food shops to check the quality of the food served there. They also destroyed the health hazardous colours and 114 kgs of uneatable food. The team also served notices to the four restaurants.

The city is facing the dangers of Swine Flu and Dengue cases which are on the rise. In view of that the VMSS health department started strict checking in the hotels, restaurants and food shops to check the quality of the food which can be health hazardous for the people. Health officer Mukesh Vaidya said that the health teams on Friday conducted checking in 24 hotels, restaurants and food shops in Akota, OP Road, Fatehgunj, Race Course areas.4204c394-1a08-463e-a285-cd518b388c6cHe further said that for the last couple of days the teams started checking inside the hotels and restaurants and like today they checked 23 various areas on Thursday. The health hazardous and uneatable substances were destroyed on the spot and samples were taken and send for the lab testing.

Food inspector Jitendra Gohil said that during checking in Akota, Racecourse, Alkapuri areas they found Chatni, colour, vegetables and other items of total 110 kgs and destroyed on the spot. They also served notices to four restaurants, food shop owners. He further said that the colours are health hazardous to intestines and abdomen and hence they destroyed the items during checking.
