Vijender Singh won Asian Pacific Middleweight title against Kerry Hope

Indian boxer Vijender Singh made the history by becoming the first Indian to hold a WBO sanctioned title after defeating Kerry Hope of Australia.

Being a first Indian to clinch the first ever Boxing title, Vijender Singh making a new path for the youngsters of India to encourage them for professional boxing and he made the country proud of him.

Indian boxer was confident about his winning but he performed with beyond the limits. He was undefeated through the competition and won every single match. He won the final with the scores of 98-92, 98-92, 100-90 from panel of 3 judges. He gets through the 8th round for the 1st time in his professional career. Whole Stadium was buzzing with “Singh is King” sound.

After the title presentation an emotional Vijender Singh said that, “This is not about me. This is about my country.”

Many celebrities came to cheer up Vijender Singh. Congress President Rahul Gandhi came to yhe stadium to watch the finals. Celebrities like Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina , Randeep Hooda, Neha Dhupia and many others arrived to support Vijender singh. Vijender Singh fought bravely in the finals to win this title.

PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “ Congratulations boxer Vijender Singh for a hard fought and well deserved win. It was yet another display of immense skill, strengthen and stamina.”

Vijender Singh dedicated his title to Mohammad Ali after winning WBO Asia Pacific Middleweight title.
