Western Railway today celebrated its 70th foundation day with full enthusiasm and celebration of its rich history and glorious heritage. Western Railway was born on 5 November 1951 by the merger of BB&CI Railway Company with other state railways.

On this occasion, Vadodara Divisional Railway Manager Devendra Kumar along with officials did a tree plantation in Pratapnagar railway colony. On this occasion, Additional Divisional Railway Manager AK Singh and other divisional officers also plant trees to mark the ocassion.

On this occasion, Senior Divisional Engineer Harikesh Meena (TRS) developed a new garden with staff by planting 70 trees in the electric loco shed of Vadodara division. Masks were distributed to sanitation workers at various railway stations of the division. On the other hand, Rotary Club donated dustbin at Ankleshwar station of Mandal.

Major stations and buildings including Vadodara in the Vadodara division were attractively lighted on the 70th Foundation Day of the Western Railway. Apart from this historic 603T Steam Engine along with the building of division office is also lit up to celebrate the ocassion.

Messages were also circulated through audio video about the achievements of Western Railway at the major stations of the Mandal. The culture team also organized an online function under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager.
