Vadodara's Don Bosco school unique approach to nature conservation education

Considering the current situation, it is imperative to keep in view the nature conservation and protect it in the midst of global epidemic. In such time, many important steps have been taken to educate the environment at Don Bosco School in Makarpura area of ​​Vadodara. Here the teaching of protection of nature has been coordinated with education in a unique way.

School administrators have made significant contributions in connecting the school to the environment. Don Bosco has a 30-year-old neem tree and it's maintenance is done by the professors themselves. Hygiene is given special priority in the school. Adequate efforts are made by the faculty and students to keep the area clean, dust free and green.

Don Bosco has 3 different colored bins in each classroom and in every corner. Food waste is collected in green, plastic waste in red and paper waste in brown bins.

According to Don Bosco's head Father Tony, the school used to have 5 to 6 large bins, now it has only 1 to 2 large bins. Various schemes are implemented for waste disposal. These schemes have reduced school waste by 95%. The students of the school have planted trees around the school to keep Don Bosco clean and tidy.

Don Bosco implements a variety of schemes aimed at nature conservation. Nature is nurtured by converting the leaves and twigs of trees into organic manure.
