Vadodara youths prepare portable ozone device which converts plain water into a sanitiser

With the onset of the Corona epidemic, sanitizer has become a important part of everyone's life. However sometimes people purchase harmful products by compromising with the content and alcohol level and put a risk to their lives.

A team of engineer youths from Vadodara step in to find a solution and creates a portable ozone device which converts plain water into a sanitiser. Engineer Mayank Argade said, since sanitizers are made from alcohol, they can sometimes cause accidents. While the sanitizer produced by ozone gas does not cause harm.

He further said that, when corona starts it came to their notice that a sanitiser can be created by convert oxygen into ozone. They then studied the research done by scientists from home and abroad. After this study they start working on to prepare sanitiser by adding oxygen to water in September 2020. He was accompanied by Engineer Kashyap Bhatt and Dr. Ridhi Prajapati to prepare this project.

Since January 2021, the team has started work on converting ozone gas from oxygen to a sanitizer and by April 2021, they have developed a portable ozone device," said Mayank Argade. They have also tested the sanitizers prepared from ozone by their team in the laboratory of a private college. They tested the output ozone gas from the device developed in the laboratory.

The enthusiasm of team has increased after getting satisfactory results. In the coming days they will launch the portable ozone device to prepare sanitizer made from ozone. This device is powered by electric supply.

Mayank Argade, Kashyap Bhatt and Dr. Riddhi Prajapati who developed the device for making sanitizers from ozone lives on Waghodia Road in Vadodara. From the start of corona doctors recommend to wash the hands and use sanitisers. As a result the demand for sanitizers is increased and at one stage the prices of sanitizers shoot up which were normal earlier. Many people also put adulterated sanitisers in the market which are harmful to health. So they decided to make a sanitizer out of ozone so that people would not be harmed.

On how to make a sanitizer from ozone gas, Mayank Argade said that these devices are based on ozone gas and can be used in water and can melt and convert it into the best harmless sanitizer. The engineer claimed that the sanitizers found in the market were alcohol based which causes more damage than used and there is a risk of fire. One has to purchase a new one after it emptied. Their device can convert any plain water into a sterile room in a matter of minutes, which can purify or sterilize the floor or something in a pinch.
