Women officers report duty experiences during the cyclone hit Gujarat

The women officers of Vadodara district resisted the cyclone Tautae with firm morale in addition to their devotion to duty and diligence. The strength with which eight officers, including collector Shalini Agarwal, the symbol of women's empowerment resisted the calamity is inspiring.

The administration works to prevent fear and rumors from spreading among the citizens when the threat of Tautae is looming over Gujarat. In addition, the administration provides protection to the citizens in case of a hurricane and saves their lives. During such emergency situation the women officers and employees of the district performed their duties day and night without any discrimination between men and women.

Niyati Utsav, a land acquisition officer serving as Padra taluka liaison said she was Padra Mamlatdar and even before this he was appointed as a pre-monsoon liaison, so she was familiar with the staff and officer on duty. MGVCL, Forest, Road and Building (Panchayat) each department contributed in resisting the cyclone. There was good coordination among all and as a result not a single patient in Covid Hospital was affected. Sets of diesel generators were installed at Covid Hospital for smooth coordination.

Shraddha Shrimali, who is on duty as Deputy Collector, said there is no big covid hospital in Desar and they shifted the patients in need of oxygen as part of precautionary step. One of the women who played a pivotal role in the Taluka Mamlatdar disaster was pregnant who was constantly on the move and stayed at the office for two days and nights. Even during night duty, all the employees, regardless of gender, performed their duty and proved their diligence and devotion to duty.

Everyone worked in the same way without any discrimination between men and women. During this duty, they got cooperation from the people visited the site. Women are also on duty as staff officers and employees in the forest department and during the cyclone duty, they received complaint about the trees fell and wall collapsed.
