Vadodara SOG team arrested one for selling ganja in the city

Supplier absconding

Vadodara SOG team exposed a ganja supply network after laid a trap at the Karelibaug area of the city. The auto driver parked his rickshaw near Jalaram nagar slum at VIP road and sell the pouches to the customers. He purchase one pouch for 200 from a supplier from Waghodia road and charged 300 to 400 from the customers.

As per the details, S.O.G. P.I. M.R. Solanki received information about a rickshaw driver selling ganja near Jalaram Nagar slum after parked his auto every evening. Based on that the team laid a trap and found the rickshaw driver selling pouches to customers and charged 300 and 400 from them. The team then arrest him from the spot along with the pouches.

Police found the seller as Virendra Kumar alias Niku Amarjit Upadhyay lives in VIP Road Jalaram Nagar slum. He drove an auto rickshaw and also involved in selling ganja in the area. Police recovered 19 pouches of ganja worth Rs 5,300 from him and also seized the auto rickshaw. A complaint has been lodged against him at the Harni police station under Narcotics and further investigation is on in the matter.

SOG investigation further revealed that Virendra Upadhyay involved in the business for the last six-seven months and brought 25 to 23 pouches daily from Ronak alias Balu Chauhan, a resident of Waghodia Road. He then sold them in Jalaram Nagar and various areas of the city including the slum belt.

During interrogation he said, he used to purchase a single pouch for 200 from Ronak and then sell it for 300 to 400 per pouch to the customers. Ronak is absconding and police is in the process to arrest him.
