Vadodara city police have busted a gang for cheating educated youths in the name of getting jobs in the railway court. Police have arrested three members of a gang who allegedly extorted Rs 1 crore from 54 youths.

  Police have seized a pile of documents from the office rented by the gang, including bogus i cards, bogus appointment letters of the railways and other documents.

Giving information about the bogus railway recruitment scam A.C.P. A.V. Rajgor said, the SOG get information about the gang involved in the railway scam is active again in the city and cheat candidates in the name of giving them jobs in the railways. Based on the information, the police team kept a watch.

Tushar Purohit, the mastermind of the gang, rented an office in Uday Nagar near Old Padra Road at Manisha Chokdi, and began cheating educated unemployed youth in the name of getting jobs in the railway court. However, before the gang could fled overnight, the SOG raided and nabbed 3 members of the gang. The team also seized bogus documents from their office.

He further said that SOG team has arrested Tushar Yogeshbhai Purohit (resides at Amrutvila Apartment, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad and originally from Navapura, Jail Road, Rajpipla), Dilip Somabhai Solanki (resides at Ghoghamba, Panchmahal) and Kaushal Ghanshyambhai Parekh (Res. Madhukunj Society, Near Radhika Society, Vasna Road) from the spot. Police inquiry have revealed details that the gang had collected Rs 1 crore from 54 candidates.

Police also seized bogus stamps of the Railway Ministry, appointment letters, selection merit list of Railway Department, Railway Ministry files, voucher books, name plates, railway receipt books, visiting cards of various positions, laptops and mobiles. Two other gang members from Delhi have been declared wanted by the police and search is on to arrest them.

Police said the MO of the accused is just like of the bollywood movie Special 26 where they conduct exams, declare merit lists and even send the candidates for training. The team also investigate about the involvement of any railway employee or other persons in the matter.
